Bonds

The credit for setting up Bonds goes to none other than George Allan Bond, a man with a wide vision. An American by birth, he came to Australia in the beginning of 20th century and started his company Bonds in 1915. Initially, this was a small concern, mainly importing gloves and hosiery for women. However, George soon diversified and extended his company and the products it sold. With a team of expert designers, Bonds grew to be what it is today - one of Australia’s most popular brands. As George Bond puts in, “We don’t work for each other. We work with each other”. Looking at the growth of the company, one could say that George actually implemented this motto in real life. In 1964, Bonds became the official sponsor of the Olympics, and in 2000, they supplied uniforms for the volunteers at the Sydney Olympics. As their fame spread everywhere, eminent personalities like Sarah Murdoch and Pat Rafter became their brand ambassadors in 2001 and 2002 respectively.
